This talk is about Christian Hope and the Last Things.
We talk about Jesus and the Kingdom, both here in us by sanctifying grace, ordered to consummate grace in the beatific vision (heaven), and to come--when God is all in all (second coming/parousia).
There is also a discussion on Purgatory, its reasonability and necessity, and the real possibility of purgation in this current life through growth in holiness (special shout out to St. John of the Cross and the Dark Night of the Soul).
We speak of hell as a real possibility and the frightful reality of our free will. Fear of the Lord is not only awe at God, but a real fear at the prospect that we can reject Him. Lastly, we look at the Resurrection of the Dead. Some mention is made with regard to incorruptible saints and extraordinary manifestations in the life of the people of God which are signs of what is to come. Theologically, St. Thomas Aquinas' delineation of four attributes of our resurrected bodies caps the talk.
